Ahmed Sherif Isa is a neuroscientist who specializes in pain research (Pain physiology). His area of interest are vast but primarily he is interested in the chronobiology of pain and how pain is influenced by weather, seasons and climate. He is also interested in neuropathic pain research and how pain is influenced by neurodegenerative diseases. He has collaborated with scientists from other fields and he is interested in collaboration with other people.


Sherif is a member of Teaching and Research in Natural Sciences for Development in Africa (TReND) and  regularly organises or participates in outreach activities to inspire the next generation of scientists. He participated in the 5th TReND/ISN Neuroscience and Drosophila Neurogenetics School, held in Kampala International University, Dares-Salam Tanzania. His interest in science communication was reinforced by the participation in the African Science Literacy Network (ASLN). Sherif hopes to positively influence the society through effective communication of science to the general public.
